Continual improvement has been a key component of ITIL® for years, and it has evolved in ITIL 4. The ITIL continual improvement model is universal and can be applied to anything, including practices, products, services, relationships, resources, and so on. It provides a structured approach to continual improvement and works well at all levels of an organization, including governance, strategic and tactical management, and ongoing operations.
However, there is a question about the improvement model because of its simplicity; it looks linear and has not changed much since 2002.
