Big Data is a hot topic of discussion. From a security perspective, there are two distinct issues: securing the organization and its customers’ information in a Big Data context; and using Big Data Techniques to analyze and even predict, security incidents.
Big Data breaches will be bigger, increasing the potential for more serious reputational damage and legal repercussions than at present.
The deployment of Big Data for fraud detection, and in place of security incident and event management (SIEM) systems, is attractive to many organizations. The overheads of managing the output of traditional SIEM and logging systems are proving too much for most IT departments
Big Data expands the boundaries of existing information security responsibilities and introduces significant new risks and challenges.

Certain Big Data domains, such as computer vision and speech recognition , have seen the application of Deep Learning largely to improve classification modeling results. The ability of Deep Learning to extract high-level, complex abstractions and data representations from large volumes of data, especially unsupervised data, makes it attractive as a valuable tool for Big Data Analtyics. More specifically, Big Data problems such as semantic indexing, data tagging, fast information retrieval, and discriminative modeling can be better addressed with the aid of Deep Learning.
