Terrifying?! - Phishing Hall of Infamy - Day 4
Harri Freeman 27 Jul 2017 09:44
Hi all!
Today we’d like you to take a stance on a certain debate topic. We all know the Internet of Things has arrived and it poses a plethora of vital questions regarding cyber resilience, not least the number of devices by which phishing messages can now reach us and the expanding attack vectors this exposes us all to. So today we’d like to ask a simple question, all you need to do is answer honestly and defend your stance.
“The Internet of Things, are you more worried or excited by the possibilities?”

I have mixed feelings about IoT; excited when considering the human interactions that unlock possibilities in every industry and things we do but then am worried because it also brings our level of exposure to vulnerabilities to a new height – the thought that someone could take over control of my car or a self-driving car for that matter is scary; and that is just one of so many things to consider.

yes. Coin has two sides at least :). earlier we used to focus on the side we interested in and now we have to see what the otherside (vulnerabilities) that will impact our needs and wants

There are apps that let the scammers create a fake website for collecting data.They are simple tools that allows to craft a simple email message and send it to one or several recipients using a specified mail server.
It's your own responsaility to install an anti phising software and educate yourself on how to protect you site.

   looks some porttion of my content missed...
   Yes... having the cons listed we have many pros with IoT. Like
Tracking behavior for real-time marketing;
Enhanced situational awareness;
Sensor-driven decision analytics;
Process optimization;
Optimized resource consumption; and
Instantaneous control and response in complex autonomous systems.
      The important point is  we need to get benifits without or minimum cons
