A cyber conversation - when Nick Wilding met Larry King

The serious topic of cyber resilience was given added gravitas by legendary US talk show host and interviewer, Larry King, at the recent PINK15 ITSM event in Las Vegas.

Larry King, who hosted “Larry King Live” on CNN for 25 years, was both keynote speaker and interviewer at the conference and exhibition. This included an interview with AXELOS’ Head of Cyber Resilience Best Practice, Nick Wilding.

Citing some high profile cyber security failings in companies including Target, Home Depot and Sony, Larry King questioned the importance of cyber resilience to organizations and what AXELOS is doing to help them.

Nick Wilding told Mr King: “Every day hackers are able to target any one of us to gain access to precious and valuable personal data and commercially sensitive information. We all have a role to play and the consequences of poor resilience can be catastrophic for organizations. Many have already felt the pain from attack and many more are struggling to understand what ‘good’ looks like and how they can mature their resilience.

“Therefore AXELOS has created pragmatic cyber resilience good practices that organizations should be adopting.

Mr Wilding emphasized that the high profile cases of corporate cyber breaches were “the tip of the iceberg” and that no organization is immune to such attacks.

He added: “More than cyber security, cyber resilience goes further to enable companies to effectively respond and recover to attacks so that they can return to ‘business as usual’ quickly and with minimal damage.

“AXELOS Cyber Resilience will be useful for people across any organization, from the Boardroom down. We are all on the cyber frontline and we all have a role to play in safeguarding our most precious information that drives our innovation and growth.”
