Axelos has released the PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation level certification, which is now available to the public. This new certification enables candidates to benefit from the guidance on delivering, managing or working within agile projects and project teams, without the need for any prior knowledge of PRINCE2e® or other prerequisites.

PRINCE2 Agile Foundation is aimed at professionals working in an agile environment. It will help them learn the basics of the PRINCE2 project management method and how to use and tailor agile concepts and techniques. The new certification also provides them with an overview of PRINCE2 and agile frameworks and tools such as Scrum, Lean Startup, MoSCoW analysis and agile estimating. In addition, it enables disciplined flexibility within organizations while promoting transparent working practices within project teams.

Margo Leach, Chief Product Officer, Axelos said: “Bringing our new offering to the market was a very exciting journey. We worked together with our wide-reaching ecosystem of global partners to develop this latest product. To ensure a quality-controlled approach, we conducted a series of successful pilots throughout April and May 2018.

“Those who are interested in taking the PRINCE2 Agile Foundation training course don’t need any prior knowledge of PRINCE2. This means that a much wider audience is now able to benefit from our guidance and achieve a world-renowned agile project management certification.

“We are very excited about this new addition to our portfolio and expect a strong take-up over the summer months.”

In addition to the new level, the PRINCE2 Agile guide and Practitioner exam have been aligned to the PRINCE2 2017 update. This also includes a new process to remain current for PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certificate-holders, whose certificates will now be valid for three years. They can either re-sit the full PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner exam or generate a PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner digital badge which will be used as verification of their certificate. To generate this, they can subscribe to the online content subscription, My PRINCE2 and log 60 CPD points across the three-year period.

PRINCE2 Agile Foundation can also be used as an additional route to the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certification.
