AXELOS round table in Singapore a success

AXELOS Global Partner Team held their first sales and marketing round table for the Asia region on 20th March 2014 at the Park Royal Hotel, Beach Road in Singapore. Facilitated by Kelvyn Lien-Hicks, Sales and Marketing Director with attendance from Peter Hepworth, CEO, the meeting was a high profile event with the opportunity to address important points in earnest with AXELOS senior members of the leadership team.

Following the event, Omar Hadjel - Global Partner Manager says: "It is our participants who made our first sales & marketing round table a success. We had a good mix of partners around the table and everyone felt that there was a fair representation of our eco-system in the region. Participants' profound knowledge and passion for AXELOS products was very encouraging and as we strengthen our collaboration with our esteemed partners, the positive energy at our gathering validated our belief that our bold collaboration will yield bold results. Our discussions were incredibly insightful and exceeded our expectations in terms of how our partners would perceive our novel [sales & marketing] approach and intentions.

The meeting was an interactive sales & marketing session focussing on the tactical approach to promoting/selling ITIL and PPM in the region. Operational items that have an impact on commercial activities were also discussed, including the gap between ITIL Foundation and ITIL Intermediate and the grey market and how to tackle it. The organization of regional events and the creation of AXELOS regional chapters to galvanize and add value to both individuals and the corporate community were also discussed."

Hadjel continues: " The meeting certainly served its original purpose:

We conducted 2 workshops, one on ITIL and one on PRINCE2 where we asked participants to:

1. identify challenges to selling ITIL and PRINCE2 and the wider PPM suite
2. give their views on how we could overcome those challenges

  • Meet face to face and engage those who sell/represent our products across Asia
  • Understand the regional differences/subtleties
  • Identify challenges to selling ITIL, PPM (and now Cybersecurity product) in the region
  • Identify areas of collaboration and how AXELOS can help

We felt we received candid and honest feedback, which we categorized, prioritized and translated into action points; some of which we took away to work internally. In addition, participants identified areas of immediate collaboration and joint initiatives with AXELOS; this was real tribute to everyone's willingness to work together to grow the regional markets."

The day ended with a well-deserved sit down dinner at the hotel's restaurant and a few drinks at the bar allowing for more networking and debating.

Hadjel adds: "Everyone in the AXELOS Partner Team feels incredibly privileged to be able to work with our partners to contribute to the evolution of the strong ITIL and PPM legacy and we all look forward to meeting more partners around the world and collaborating on initiatives to further advance the Global Best Practice products."

North America: USA - May 2014

Central & South America: City and date tbc
