Are you a person who wants to get things done and be successful but lacks the time to make big changes or to start anything complex and new?
Based on PRINCE2® processes, though taking a more lightweight approach, we have created a brief, practical guidance paper using four simple checklists and mind maps to help make a difference to getting work done successfully.
The paper, It's all about keeping it simple, is available within My PRINCE2:
1. Getting started
At the outset, you should quickly decide the who, what, why and any rules for your project to ensure the job gets off to the best start.
2. Mapping it out
The second stage involves taking a bit more time to fully map out your project plan. Taking time now before starting the work to get everything in order will save time later.
3. Doing the work
This stage enables you to do great work in a way that people can see and trust, to celebrate progress, and to deal with changes and unexpected issues.
4. Finishing it well
This final step is often forgotten. But reflecting post-project on what you learn from what you’ve done, seeing the benefits and identifying areas for improvement will make a huge difference to the future.
This guidance takes its inspiration from PRINCE2 – the world’s most widely-used project management method – and will give you the beginnings of a firm foundation that you can build on towards a recognized certification in project management.
