PRINCE2® and agile - best practice guidance

Are you a project manager tasked with managing agile delivery methods? Are you a PRINCE2 practitioner faced with delivery in an agile environment?|

The latest AXELOS initiative - the first major product development from its project and programme management (PPM) portfolio - will seek to blend the best of PRINCE2 and agile methods in the “PRINCE2 agile” best practice guide and qualification.

Scheduled for launch in Q1 2015, PRINCE2 agile is already a work in progress, with agile guru Keith Richards of agileKRC as lead author. Along with talking directly to other agile gurus globally during the research process, Keith will be working alongside nominated mentor Larry Cooper of BSSNexus Global Inc. in North America to get his regional perspective.

The aim is to provide additional information for organizations and individuals already using PRINCE2 but involved in agile methods. The guide will help experienced PRINCE2 practitioners tailor management controls for agile development while helping agile developers understand PRINCE2 governance requirements.

Frances Scarff, Product Development Director at AXELOS said: “We believe the concepts in PRINCE2 and agile are complementary, mutually supportive and should be part of the skills toolkit for professionals responsible for both project management and agile delivery.”

AXELOS CEO Peter Hepworth announced these exciting new developments at the recent LEADit event in Australia on 13 August.
