The world’s biggest tournament is underway, with 32 nations putting forward their best footballing talent to compete for the ultimate trophy in football. From 14 June to 15 July 2018, the world will watch these teams go through intense competition. Most nations will experience devastating loss and misery as their team gets knocked out. But for one, the glory and pride will be immeasurable, as their winning team returns with the coveted golden trophy.

One thing that comes to mind is whether the cup could be won by using the world's most adopted project management method. PRINCE2 defines a project as being a temporary organization that is created for the purpose of delivering one or more business products. Much like a project, a football squad is brought together on a temporary basis to compete. Over one million certified PRINCE2 Practitioners around the globe use PRINCE2 every day to successfully deliver projects. So why not apply the principles of PRINCE2 in the context of preparing for a football tournament?
