AXELOS has created a range of online tools that will help you understand your skills capabilities, map out your future career path and record development activities that are recognized through a digital badge.
We have developed the AXELOS Skills Framework to organizations wanting to adopt best practice into their development programmes and to support individuals in their professional development and career planning. Find out more about the AXELOS Skills Framework.
AXELOS has developed a set of assessment tools to help you evaluate the skills you need to develop in order to pursue your desired career path. These tools are underpinned by the AXELOS Skills Framework, a practical guide to pinpoint the skills to focus on across a range of roles in IT Service Management and Project and Programme Management.
This tool provides a list of skills from the AXELOS Skills Framework. Once you’ve identified the skills you want to assess, you can evaluate yourself from 1 to 5, selecting the most appropriate level based on the description given. The results will help you identify the areas to focus on within your professional development and close any skill gaps.
You can also nominate individuals to assess your skills, providing you with 360 degree feedback to use as a comparison against your own evaluation. You can select up to 12 skills from eight categories:
Business Analysis and Change Management
Leadership and personal skills
IT Service Design
IT Service Operation
IT Service Transition
IT Service Strategy
Project Portfolio Management
Business and Commercial.
Our career planning tool provides over 50 job profiles from the AXELOS Career Path from within the IT Service Management (ITSM) or Project and Programme (PPM) professions. These job profiles are associated with a maximum of 12 skills, which you will be asked to rate yourself against. You will also be asked to evaluate yourself against each skill, selecting the most appropriate based on the description given.
The results will map your skills to that of the job profile, allowing you to understand your strengths and areas for improvement. You can also nominate individuals to assess your skills, providing you with 360 degree feedback to use as a comparison against your own evaluation.
At the heart of our membership programme is our online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) toolset, which provides a focused and simple way to assess, plan and record your development as your career progresses.
You will need to undertake and record 20 points of development activity each year, which can include professional experience, training and qualifications, community participation and self-study. In recognition of this, you will receive a digital badge as tangible proof of your commitment to your continuing professional development.
See the CPD requirements page for more information.
Digital badges are only available to individuals that have an ITIL, PRINCE2 or MSP certification. When you have successfully completed and logged your development activities against the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements you will receive a digital badge. This is a visual representation of your credentials that you can share online and contains verified metadata that describes your commitment to professional development.
You can use your badge to differentiate yourself in the market by demonstrating that you are relevant and current within your industry, enhancing the original investment you made in your AXELOS qualification.
See the Digital badges page for more information.
