Due to the impact of the coronavirus, from 13 April 2020 to 31 December 2021 individuals are now permitted to print PDFs for exams and use PDFs or official e-books on a second e-device (portable digital devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops) during open book exams.

Portfolio, programme and project offices are widely used to support best practice in organizations of all sizes, across public and private sectors. This Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O®) publication builds on the references in PRINCE2®, Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®), and Management of Risk (M_o_R®) and Management of Portfolios (MoP®) to provide a single information source for organizations or individuals wishing to set up or maintain an effective delivery support office.

Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices describes how to create tailored governance and support structures for managing portfolios, programmes and projects. It includes guidance for building a business case, and funding models for set-up and ongoing costs. Different types of office are considered, together with the roles and services that may be carried out.

The P3O standard has been invaluable in helping me to assess the maturity of our P3O office.
using the functions and services table in appendix F I was able to complete a maturity assessment, and propose areas for improvement and development which has been well received.
Using the Skills from the MSP training I have planned a programme of improvement and change for the P3O and the project delivery organization.

When I started the book I was preparing to interview for a PMO manager vacancy. In reading the book I gained a better understanding of the PMO in context to the larger P30 landscape.
