Very simply, PRINCE2 is a globally established method for running and managing projects. It has been with us for 25 years now; the earliest version was called PRINCE, but PRINCE2 was developed to be applicable in organizations of any size in the private or public sector. The approach can be used for any type of project, not just those relating to IT and marketing.
