Axelos has launched the 5th edition of Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®), the global framework for programme management best practice.

The MSP update enables organizational agility through the adoption of an incremental approach to the programme lifecycle. It supports organizations and professionals in managing programmes as well as larger more strategic projects, or multiple inter-related projects and helps align their delivery to organizational strategy.

Using MSP 5th edition allows organizations and professionals to focus on the delivery of outcomes and benefits while understanding and mitigating risks. It also offers best practice guidance on how to engage and manage stakeholders and communicate a clearly defined vision of a programme.

Mark Basham, Chief Executive Officer at Axelos, says: “Transformational change is no longer an option, it is a requirement for pretty much every organization around the globe. This makes programme management increasingly important as a critical enabler for change.

“But programme management itself is evolving due to the speed of change, increased volatility, new and agile ways of working and the digital revolution we are experiencing. Our new edition of MSP is responding to this. It emphasizes flexibility, adaptability, and responsiveness – key skills for both individuals and organizations.”

About MSP

MSP is the de facto certification and guidance for aspiring senior project and programme managers. It consists of a set of principles, themes, and processes that provide a clear roadmap for the programme lifecycle leading to successful organizational outcomes. MSP provides candidates with the knowledge and skill to respond to the challenges they face when managing programmes and larger, more strategic multiple projects.
