Update to PRINCE2 Best practice Guidance
To reflect changes in business practices, AXELOS is currently revising our PRINCE2 guidance, which may also affect the content of PRINCE2 Agile. The new version of PRINCE2 will be launched in mid-2017 and we will update this website with more information in due course.
See our PRINCE2 2017 page for more information.
Why PRINCE2 Agile
Our 2016 research found two major trends within the agile space. The first was a disconnect between the high value practitioners placed on agile techniques and how they saw that being reciprocated at an organizational level. The second was that although there was a great appetite from practitioners to adopt agile, very few Project Managers had any formal training. By blending the flexibility of agile, with the governance of PRINCE2, PRINCE2 Agile equips practitioners with the ability to:
- Be on time and hit deadlines
- Protect the level of quality
- Embrace and adapt to change
- Keep project teams stable
- Manage stakeholder expectation so that they accept that they don’t need everything.
As of 1 October 2016 PRINCE2 Agile is available to those who hold PRINCE2 Foundation, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Project Management Professional® (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management® (CAPM), and IMPA Levels A,B,C and D® (Certified Projects Director) certifications. This is an extension of the previous prerequisites for PRINCE2 Agile and will initially run until 31 December 2017.
The majority of PRINCE2 Agile guidance is new material and examines how PRINCE2 and agile methods can interact and be adapted to accommodate each other in order to benefit overall management of projects. To find out more, see our PRINCE2 Agile certification page.
